Description:
The fulltime Statewide Solidarity Committee Organizer will lead efforts to organize and direct
allies to take action in solidarity for immigration justice. This role will build a network of trained
allies, coordinate rapid response systems, and support ongoing immigration justice campaigns.

This position reports to the Organizing Director.

Location: Northern Virginia or Richmond (Hybrid, 3 days in the office/field)

Salary Range: $54,000 - $59,000, commensurate with experience, and comes with an
excellent benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and stipends for phone and
transportation.

Key Responsibilities:
● Timely follow up with leads generated by field and digital outreach efforts
● Conduct regular organizing one-on-one meetings with new and interested allies to move
them to action and connect them with appropriate solidarity committees in Northern
Virginia, Richmond, and in other locations to be determined
● Build strong relationships and identify and develop leaders into clear leadership roles
● Support solidarity committee members leading or starting teams across the state with
training, coaching, and admin support, including leading statewide virtual solidarity
committee trainings
● Orient and coach allies to center NVM’s immigrant base rooted in solidarity, not charity,
and develop the political consciousness of allies through political education
● Coordinate solidarity committee efforts statewide, including supporting work on strategic
immigration justice campaigns
● Ongoing data management
● This role may involve travel in Virginia to support local committees
● Other duties as assigned related to this role
Qualifications:
● Required:
○ Committed to New Virginia Majority’s mission of immigration, racial, and
economic justice
○ Experience in community organizing and/or volunteer coordination (1-2 years
preferred)
○ Strong facilitation and training skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
○ Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
● Preferred:
○ Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English)
○ Experience working in multiracial coalitions
○ Familiarity with digital organizing tools

resources to creatively solve problems. Proposes solutions to issues without much
guidance (but isn’t afraid to ask questions). Proactively asks for help, anticipates
problems, and course-corrects when needed
● Strong sense of ownership & resilience - Plans ahead and finds alternative paths, when
needed, to get to the finish line. Bounces back from setbacks and rejections. Holds a
high bar even when things are hectic.
